When my mouse is not used for a while, I can't seem to get it going again.
All of our models are fixed at 1200 DPI but sensitivity can be changed by going onto the mouse settings on your computer through the control panel. It is easy to change the sensitivity to a different setting.
Where do I put the batteries?
They fit in the boot. Spare batteries can be carried inside a special sleeve inside the carrying pouch..
This varies by model.
If you have the original sports car model, place your thumb on the rear windshield and slide it backwards towards the rear of the car. The lid should just pop up. If it is a bit stiff you may need to help it to lift with your finger nail.
For the Classic mini - (please refer to the instruction leaflet for a diagram)
Lift/slide the boot upwards and the boot will then spring down. The boot is hinged at bumper level. If you tilt the car backwards, the USB receiver will come out.
For the BMW mini – (please refer to the instruction leaflet for a diagram) Lift upwards from bumper level. The boot is hinged at roof level.
How long do the batteries last for?
This depends on how much you use the device. Like all wireless devices, they use energy which is not replaced. Our hibernation technology means you get the best use out of your batteries (providing you are using good quality batteries). We use wireless mice in our offices all day and we generally find we get approx 3 months use out of them. However, the best solution is to use re-chargeable ones and carry a small USB charger with you.
It won't work with my laptop in its docking station.
Some docking stations prefer the receiver being placed in the USB port on the actual laptop. Others prefer to use the USB on the station. Try different ports. There is always one that will work.
Do I need to download special software to run the device?
No. The software is built in to the device and is automatic on inserting the receiver and the batteries (the right way round).
What payment cards are accepted?
The headlights have started flashing on my wireless mouse.
Your batteries need changing before they go flat, otherwise the connection between the mouse and the receiver could be dropped. You could switch to re-chargeable ones and purchase a USB plug in charger from our web site.
It won't work in the USB port
Check your port settings through your control panel as sometimes the port is 'inactive' and needs to be activated Go into control panel in windows xp and there is a setting in device manager under the usb settings and this needs to be unticked.
My left button/right button will not work
Go into control panel/ mouse and change the buttons settings round the other way. For example make the right button do the left click and make the left button do the right click. Then change them back after trying the new configuration this normally re-boots the buttons to work normally.
The lights are not on all the time
The wireless models work off batteries and it would flatten them if continual lighting was in place. The lights will be on the wired mouse when in use as it takes power directly from the computer.
Make sure the receiver is in the computer USB port on your computer. Check the batteries are in the right way round.
This varies by model.
If you have the original sports car model, close it down and push the lid gently towards the front of the car.
If you have the classic mini – gently push the boot up into place and slide down towards the bumper until it clicks shut
If you have the BMW mini – just close down normally
Does it matter which way round the batteries go?
YES. Looking at the rear of the car you should have the + end showing on the left battery and the - on the right battery before locking them down into the holder.
What other colours are there?
Our original sports car Motormouse is available in Silver, Black, Pink and Red (We also have Blue by special order via telephone)
The classic Mini is available in red, white or blue (please note these are replica colours that were available at the time)
The BMW mini is available in chilli red, pepper white or black
I can’t find my USB receiver.
The USB receiver is located in a slot next to the batteries in the packaging. Please check in the packaging as it can be overlooked.
My mouse is very sensitive.
You can change the sensitivity through several settings. 400,800,1600. Simply hold down the two click buttons for three seconds until the headlights flash, then let go. This moves to the next sensitivity setting. Try the unit again and see the difference. Repeat the exercise until you find the right sensitivity for you. With new models the DPI setting is fixed but sensitivity can be changed by going onto the settings on your computer through the control panel.
Can I use re-chargeable batteries?
Will my mouse work with another receiver?
NO. Each mouse is individually paired with its receiver.
Can I leave my receiver in the laptop when shutting it down?
YES. Everything will re-boot together. Be careful when placing your laptop into a bag if you have left the receiver in it.
Are there any accessories being produced?
YES. Have a look at our accessories section
Are there any other makes of car available?
Keep an eye on the website as new models will be published there.
It has an in-built cut off when not in use which hibernates to save energy. Simply left click and it will re-boot. Alternatively if you remove the receiver from your laptop the mouse will close down anyway.
I can't get it to work with my wireless keyboard.
Sometimes the USB port that you are putting the receiver in has been inexplicably blocked by another device. Try putting the receiver in another port and give it a few minutes to re-connect the device.
What system is it compatible with?
System Requirements
PC - Windows XP or Windows Vista,Windows 7, USB port
Mac - Mac OS 10.3.9 or later, USB port
From the control panel select 'device manager' (this is in the Classic View), there will be a entry for 'unknown device' in the 'other' category, simply right click on the unknown device and select 'properties', 'driver', 'update driver', 'browse my computer for driver software', 'let me pick from a list of devices on my computer' and finally select 'HID-compliant mouse or USB browser mouse'.
My mouse has just stopped working.
Try changing batteries. Alternatively you can move the USB receiver to another port nearer to the mouse, sometimes there is a physical obstacle between the mouse and the USB receiver. The closer the receiver is to the actual mouse the better the response and battery life will be. If you are still having problems you can re-boot the mouse, click here to download the simple instructions on how to do this.
If you are still having problems after trying the re-boot process, download the software and instructions to correct the problem.
